Further Ways into Abstract Painting

Back by popular demand, I am teaching another 6 week abstract course at York Learning.

The course is about refining techniques, going deeper into discovering unique modes of expression and thinking about how we can tell a story through a painting.

During the course, we will look at the work of contemporary abstract artists and how they do what they do. We will explore experimental techniques such as painting with sound and music, responding to our sensory environments through painting, and tuning in to intuition. We will take a deeper look at ways of applying paint, mixed-media approaches, acrylic ink, mark-making, layering, masking and working with textures.
